Turkey harvest sees slight dip from last year

Turkey hunters in The Natural State checked 10,066 birds during the recently concluded season in April. This year’s season featured 16 days for all hunters and two more days at the front end of the season for the annual statewide youth turkey hunt. The regular season also features an earlier start, by five days, from the 2016 season, but leaving no quiet period between the end of the youth hunt and the beginning of the regular season.

Seniors’ fishing clinic and derby coming to Maumelle community

Northwest Arkansas Nature and Education Center Plans Taking Shape

Split Rock Studios, a Minneapolis-based company that focuses on exhibits and displays for facilities such as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s nature centers, will meet with AGFC officials Wednesday, April 26, to discuss ideas for the proposed Northwest Arkansas Nature and Education Center in Springdale.

Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports regional tournaments begin April 28

Teenagers from across Arkansas will gather at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville each weekend, beginning April 28, to take their shots at the regional and state championship tournaments of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program.
