LITTLE ROCK — Hikers, cyclists and other outdoors enthusiasts in central Arkansas may notice a few changes along their favorite path from Two Rivers Park in Little Rock to downtown North Little Rock. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recently completed updating 13 signs along the Arkansas RiverTrail to freshen up the artwork and ensure all information on the signs is up-to-date.

LITTLE ROCK — Thanks to a proclamation signed by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders last week, Sept. 23 has officially been named National Hunting and Fishing Day in Arkansas. CONWAY – Twelve new faces will be seen behind the badge of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission as game wardens this fall after graduating from the AGFC’s training program Friday at Antioch Baptist Church.

Arkansas teal season opens Sept. 15

LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas duck hunters will get their first shot at some early birds this Friday when the early teal season opens at sunrise.

The early teal season is open Sept. 15-30, so hunters can have an opportunity to harvest some of these small ducks that typically migrate before the rest of the crowd.

AGFC stocks nearly half-million shad into Greers Ferry Lake

HEBER SPRINGS — Biologists with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission boosted the food chain at Greers Ferry Lake this week with the release of at least 476,000 threadfin shad from the lake’s nursery pond near Mill Creek Recreation Area.
