High school scholars plant conservation roots in Pine Bluff Harbor

PINE BLUFF — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, in cooperation with the American Fisheries Society, led 30 prospective future fisheries biologists in establishing more than 300 yards of aquatic habitat in the Arkansas River in July.

Leftover WMA Deer Hunt Permit sale August 4

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will sell 106 WMA Deer Hunt Permits that were left over after this year’s application and draw period this week. Permits will be available for purchase beginning 8 a.m., Friday, Aug. 4.

ROGERS — Arkansas Game and Fish Commission biologists teamed up in late June with several partners in northwest Arkansas, including the Army Corps of Engineers, Beaver Watershed Alliance and Northwest Arkansas Land Trust to herd and band roughly 280 Canada geese that had taken up residence on Beaver Lake.

LITTLE ROCK –  The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission often talks about caring for fish during hot weather to prevent their mortality, but we’re just as concerned with angler health during the dog days of summer.  The three most common issues AGFC game wardens run across during the heat of summer are life jacket use, overexposure to the sun and indulging in too many alcoholic beverages.
