Save on hunter and boating education courses in April

LITTLE ROCK — Kalkomey, the online source for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Hunter and Boating Education programs, is offering a special 25 percent discount on online courses for Hunter Education and Boating Education certification for two weeks in response to the coronavirus and the cancellation of in-person courses.

Buffalo National River closure includes angling, turkey hunting

JASPER — Last week’s closure of the Buffalo National River closes all use of the Buffalo National River Wildlife Management Area until further notice. This includes a closure to angling in this section of the Buffalo, as well as turkey hunting within this WMA during the upcoming season.

LITTLE ROCK — With coronavirus affecting many businesses in the state, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will extend the temporary closure of AGFC offices, nature and education centers and shooting ranges until further notice.

Comment on proposed changes to Arkansas hunting, wildlife regulations by April 15

LITTLE ROCK — Although the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and measures to combat it have changed the way the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has had to meet, conservation carries on. With the absence of a March meeting and an online-only meeting anticipated in April, AGFC staff have moved forward with a public comment survey to gather public input on changes needed for the 2020-21 hunting season.

AGFC waives fishing license requirement during extended spring break in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, in cooperation with Gov. Asa Hutchinson, voted during a specially called meeting today to waive all fishing license and trout permit requirements for residents and nonresidents starting this weekend at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, March 21 through 11:59 p.m Sunday, March 29.
