Van Buren County is the latest area to be placed under special wildlife regulations to curb the spread of chronic wasting disease, as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission added it to the official CWD Management Zone.
Family Fishing Day at Lake Bentonville Rescheduled

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission's Family Fishing Day scheduled for this weekend has been rescheduled for June 17 at 9 a.m. until noon. Event coordinators decided to postpone the event because of weather forecasts predicting a 90 percent chance of thunderstorms and rain this Saturday.

Commissioners approved hunting regulations changes for the 2017-18 hunting seasons, including the season dates for all game, including the 2017-18 waterfowl season and 2018 turkey season at last week's meeting in the AGFC headquarters in Little Rock.

Rae takes reigns of Enforcement Division

Greg Rae was promoted today to colonel to lead the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Enforcement Division. He succeeds Pat Fitts, who recently was promoted to assistant deputy director at the agency.
2017-18 urban deer hunt application period open

The application period for Arkansas’s special urban bowhunts for the 2017-18 hunting season is now open and will run until 6:30 p.m., August 18.
