Feral hogs are a growing problem in Arkansas and across the United States. Feral hogs have an estimated total population between four and five million across approximately 39 states and cause approximately $1.5 billion annually in agricultural and ecological costs.
Commission approves wild-caught baitfish transport ban, postpones effective date

LITTE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission unanimously voted to ban the transportation of live, wild-caught baitfish from one waterbody to other watersheds in an attempt to prevent the spread of invasive species, such as Asian carp and zebra mussels. After listening to public comments, the Commission decided to delay the regulation’s effective date until Oct. 1, 2018, to enable commercial baitfish producers time to grow shad large enough to fill the needs of striped bass guides in the state.
AGFC wildlife officers to help Florida deal with aftermath of Hurricane Irma

LITTLE ROCK – For the second time in as many weeks, Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife officers have been asked to help with hurricane search and rescue. Later today, 28 AGFC wildlife officers will head to Florida to assist the areas hardest hit by Hurricane Irma.

LITTLE ROCK - Arkansas Game and Fish Commission wildlife officers have answered the call for help from Texas. Twenty-eight AGFC wildlife officers are on their way to southeast Texas to assist in hurricane search and rescue efforts as a result of Hurricane Harvey.
New Hunting and Fishing License options being developed

A new, durable “hard card” will be available soon from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission for hunters and anglers who wish to purchase the upgrade. This new license option and a solution to complaints over the standard paper big game tags were discussed in a special meeting of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission today.
Commission sets 2018 fishing regulations
