LITTLE ROCK – With deer season in full swing, some hunters already have made Arkansas’s deer hunting honor roll - scoring a Triple Trophy Award.
Archery bear hunt quota met in Zone 1

MOUNTAIN HOME – Bear hunting with a bow was over nearly before it started this year in Bear Zone 1. In only three days, the 250-bear quota was met by bowhunters bagging their bruins.
The 72-hour season has some hunters scratching their heads, but Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Large Carnivore Program Coordinator Myron Means explains that it’s not due to a huge spike in the bear population or harvest-checking hijinks.

State Archery Championships Friday, Saturday in Spa City

HOT SPRINGS – More than 1,800 archers are scheduled to compete over two days at the 10th Arkansas National Archery in the School Program State Championships, set for Friday and Saturday at Bank of the Ozarks Arena.

LITTLE ROCK – Close to 4,200 students filed into middle and high school gymnasiums across The Natural State last weekend to take their shot at qualifying for the Arkansas National Archery in the Schools Program State Championship. Regional shoots were held in 12 locations, covering every region of the state.
