James Lasley of Little Rock caught this nice 5-pound largemouth bass from a private pond just outside of town using a do-nothing worm on a light spinning rod. His dad, who provided the photo, says James lost another fish about the same size about 10 minutes later. Still, what a prize on that catch!
AGFC releasing tagged catfish just in time for The Big Catch

LITTLE ROCK — The cats with the tags are back, and this year, they’ll be swimming in Boyle Park Pond just in time for The Big Catch, a community fishing event and health fair on May 22 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants can win prizes, enjoy music and some much needed fresh air in addition to the free fishing fun, courtesy of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Community First Alliance.

Doug Isanhart of Conway enjoyed the brown trout fishing on the misty White River below Bull Shoals Dam on Monday of this week. Cam Patterson, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences chancellor and avid outdoorsman, caught this nice brown trout on the Little Red River while being guided by Casey Hughes between Ramsey and the 305 Bridge.
