Backcountry Hunters and Anglers hosting deer hunting field day

MAYFLOWER — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will partner with the Arkansas chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers to help people get into gear for this year’s upcoming deer hunting season. The two organizations will host a special field day from 9 a.m.-noon August 21 at the Multipurpose Building of Camp Robinson Special Use Area in Mayflower.

’Bee’ a friend to Arkansas’s pollinators

If it weren’t for the bees, butterflies, bats and birds that tend to wild and agricultural plants, the food supply for humans as well as wildlife would simply stop. Many species of pollinators are seeing declines from changes in land use and certain pesticides. Asa Hutchinson today to announce the passage of House Concurrent Resolution 1014 in support of efforts to boost waterfowl and waterfowl habitat in The Natural State.

LITTLE ROCK — Hunters headed to deer camp to get things ready for opening weekend of modern gun deer season may want to make a quick pit stop to fuel up at their local Hardee’s restaurant. Every Hardee’s restaurant in Arkansas will give a free sausage biscuit to anyone who shows their valid hunting license to the cashier from 5-11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11.

Arkansas Feral Hog Task Force offers new handbook to help control nuisance pigs

LITTLE ROCK – Thanks to a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resources Conservation Service to the Arkansas Feral Hog Eradication Task Force, landowners will have more knowledge available than ever before in their fight against feral hogs. Last week, the Arkansas Department of Agriculture announced the release of the newly created Arkansas Feral Hog Handbook, a guide to resources available in Arkansas to assist with feral hog control and eradication.
