Want to memorialize those unforgettable first hunting moments? The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has a special way to say, “Welcome to the hunting community,” with customizable certificates that can be given to a person for their first success in the field.

Youth fishing tournament anglers encouraged to dump some brush on the AGFC

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has created a new award program specifically for youth fishing tournament organizations to help do their part in improving aquatic habitat in Arkansas reservoirs. Fishing tournament organizations affiliated with an Arkansas junior high, high school or college can apply for an award ranging from $500 to $1,000 to offset the costs of building and sinking brush piles and other habitat in Arkansas lakes.

Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports regional tournaments begin April 28

Teenagers from across Arkansas will gather at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville each weekend, beginning April 28, to take their shots at the regional and state championship tournaments of the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports Program.

Arkansas's duck season ended last weekend for most hunters, but hunters less than 16 years old will have one final chance to go afield during Saturday’s youth waterfowl hunt. The second part of the state’s annual youth waterfowl hunt will take place from 30 minutes before sunrise until sunset. For the second year in a row, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission established a two-part youth waterfowl hunt, with the first part taking place during the first split of the regular duck season in December 2016.
