AGFC Commissioner Meeting Notice

You are hereby notified that Commissioners of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will meet on the following dates and times to consider any business that may be brought before the Commission. Unless otherwise stated, meetings will be held at the AGFC offices, 2 Natural Resources Dr. in Little Rock.

Meetings scheduled to provide details on duck season water level and forest management changes

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a series of public meetings in October and November to explain recently announced changes to some of Arkansas’s most popular duck-hunting areas.

The meetings will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the following dates at these locations:

Falling water levels allow for Nimmo access repair

SEARCY – After a two-year wait for water conditions to be right, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is beginning work to repair the ramp and access at Nimmo on the Little Red River. The project is expected to take at least two months.

Learn the ropes at Central Arkansas fly-fishing fair

LITTLE ROCK —  The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission and Arkansas Fly Fishers will host a special fly-fishing event from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center in the River Market District of Downtown Little Rock. Anyone interested in fly-fishing, fly-tying or simply enjoying the beauty of a stream flowing through the mountains in fall is encouraged to attend.

Arkansas bear hunting check system running, quota still open

LITTLE ROCK — An unfortunate technical issue that appeared during the opening weekend of Arkansas’s deer and bear archery hunting seasons has been resolved and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is asking any hunters who were unable to check their bear during the last week to try to submit their information to help manage Arkansas’s bear population.

AGFC stops the slide at Lake Overcup

MORRILTON — Contractors working with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will begin work this week at Lake Overcup to repair damage to the backside of the lake’s dam to protect its overall integrity.
