Despite spring setbacks, AGFC hatcheries deliver Florida bass on time

LITTLE ROCK — Biologists with the Andrew Hulsey State Fish Hatchery delivered the last batch of Florida largemouth bass fingerlings to Millwood Lake and White Oak Lake in early July, completing the second-highest annual stocking of these fish in Arkansas.
Commission authorizes more than $538,000 for boat access in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission unanimously authorized $538,900 from the state’s Marine Fuel Tax program to be used in Fiscal Year 2020 for repairs and upgrades to boat ramps and access points throughout Arkansas at its meeting today.

WASHINGTON, DC – Conservation of our nation’s wildlife may see a dramatic boost thanks to a bill introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives July 12 by Representatives Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) and Debbie Dingell (D-MI). The Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (H.R. 3742) was introduced with bipartisan support to devote additional money to wildlife conservation throughout the U.S.
WRICE Program offers waterfowl more food near public hunting areas

LITTLE ROCK — Waterfowl season may be months away, but the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission is busy working with private landowners to plant the seeds for food ducks, geese and other migrating birds will need during their migration. A new program is working to increase the amount of leftover crops available to ducks when they arrive in The Natural State.
Safe boating message catching on with Operation Dry Water

HOT SPRINGS – Wildlife officers with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission noted a decline in the amount of citations during the Independence Day holiday this year. More than 2,350 boats and personal watercraft were checked during the national Operation Dry Water campaign with only 83 citations issued.
AGFC farm pond workshop available in Southwest Arkansas
