AGFC and Arkansas Tech team up to track secretive sauger on Arkansas River

RUSSELLVILLE — Researchers at Arkansas Tech University are working with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to learn more about the habits of sauger swimming in the Arkansas River. And if you just had a curious look on your face after reading the word “sauger,” you’re probably not alone. 

Tagged trout giveaway live on KTHV Thursday

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Family and Community Fishing Program and Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation will celebrate the end of the winter trout stocking season with a bang at 6 p.m. this Thursday. A live drawing will be held on KTHV’s regularly scheduled Outdoor Report and will be streamed live at www.thv11.com.

Tournament anglers tell all through ATIP

They may be all smiles and wish you the best at the boat ramp, but you’d have better luck getting Coca-Cola’s secret formula than getting the details on how they’re catching their fish. Thanks to the Arkansas Tournament Information Program, you can at least know how each lake those anglers are visiting stacks up with others in the state.

LITTLE ROCK – The Information Network of Arkansas announced the recently redesigned Arkansas Game and Fish Commission mobile app won a Platinum AVA Digital Award in the Government App for Citizens category. This award recognizes outstanding work in the concept, direction, design and production of media that is part of the evolution of digital communication.

Commissioners schedule open town hall meeting for public comment

LITTLE ROCK - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will host a special “A Conversation with Commissioners” town hall style meeting from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 19 in the AGFC auditorium at 2 Natural Resources Drive in Little Rock. The public is invited to come ask the Commissioners questions and learn more information about the agency’s work.

Fort Smith nature center hosting couples trout-fishing derby
