HUGHES - More than 100 local anglers and business owners joined the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Thursday, October 4, in officially dedicating the first public boating access to Horseshoe Lake in Crittenden County. Nancy and Pat Bonds Access Area is named for the couple who donated the land to make the new free access possible.

Cutthroat catch breaks 32-year state record

MOUNTAIN HOME – An Arkansas fishing mark that had held for nearly 33 years finally fell last weekend when a Kansas angler making an annual trek with friends to the White River pulled in a cutthroat trout weighing 10 pounds, 2 ounces. The catch was certified by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s chief of fisheries today.

AGFC fishing events hook more than 45,000 anglers in 2018

Zebra Mussels found in Bull Shoals Tailwater

MOUNTAIN HOME - Biologists with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Fisheries Division confirmed the presence of zebra mussels in the portion of the White River just downstream of Bull Shoals Dam last week.

Horsehead Lake set for fall drawdown

HARMONY - The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will lower the water level of Horsehead Lake beginning Sept. 4. The drawdown will lower the lake’s water level by 3 to 5 feet and should last until mid-winter.
