Commission sets 2019-20 waterfowl season dates, hears trout permit increase proposal

ROGERS – The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission unanimously approved the dates for the 2019-20 waterfowl season at today’s regularly scheduled business meeting at the John Q. Hammons Center.

Governor signs legislation to boost feral hog control

LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas’s growing battle with the overpopulating feral hog received a boost April 19 at the state Capitol when Gov. Asa Hutchinson signed Senate Bill 460 into law as Act 991 of the Arkansas General Assembly in front of members of the Arkansas Feral Hog Eradication Task Force.
 

Governor signs bill creating resident lifetime license for disabled vets

LITTLE ROCK – During a ceremony in the governor’s office Wednesday, Gov. Asa Hutchinson signed Senate Bill 397. The bill creates an Arkansas Game and Fish Commission resident disabled veterans license that includes a lifetime combination hunting and fishing license, a lifetime Arkansas duck stamp and an Arkansas trout stamp.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and AGFC investigating bald eagle death

MONTICELLO — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission are conducting a joint investigation into the death of a mature bald eagle found in Drew County March 28.
