LITTLE ROCK – Modern gun deer hunting is in the rearview mirror for the 2021-22 deer season, but there’s still time to fill a tag with archery tackle until the end of February. For those who have already taken a deer during Arkansas’s modern gun season and one during Arkansas’s muzzleloader season, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Triple Trophy Award may yet be within reach.

LITTLE ROCK — COVID-19 may have put the brakes on last season’s year-end celebration of deer hunting, but the bucks are back and twice as nice at this year’s Arkansas Big Buck Classic, Jan. 21-23. This also means the return of the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation’s extremely popular Kids Zone, which will be housed in the Arts and Crafts Building of the Arkansas State Fairgrounds and will be open during the entire event.

BALD KNOB — The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission completed work to remove clogged culverts and install stream crossings on Mallard Pond Road at Henry Gray Hurricane Lake Wildlife Management Area last week and the road will be able to see some traffic this weekend in time for the second segment of the 2021-22 waterfowl season.
